Today, Thursday, corresponding to 12/8/2022 AD, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – President of Aswan University, and Prof. Hazem Abdullah Shaaban El-Gamal – Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and the official in charge of international cooperation at the university, received the delegation of the South Korean Embassy led by the Korean Chancellor / Yoon Ray Park on the campus University in the new city of Aswan, and this visit comes within the framework of the fruitful cooperation between the university and the Korean embassy.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation mechanisms between Aswan University and the South Korean Embassy. It also discussed ways of fruitful cooperation between them and work to support cultural and educational relations. In this context, the cultural counselor of the South Korean Embassy in Cairo, Mrs. Yoon Ray Park, confirmed the Korean side’s keenness to develop cultural relations and cultural exchange between Egypt and South Korea, and Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, the university president, for his part, confirmed Aswan University’s keenness to strengthen cooperation With South Korea, pointing to the positive developments between the two countries, and the two sides also discussed ways to consolidate relations, especially in the field of scientific research, communications, electronics and renewable energy, for example green hydrogen.
Prof. Hazem Abdallah El-Gamal, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, added that the visit comes to support and discuss ways of cooperation between the two parties, to strengthen the Korean language department, to activate postgraduate programs and research, and to provide laboratories to facilitate students in the master’s and doctoral levels in Upper Egypt. His Excellency also indicated the importance of benefiting from experience especially in the technological fields, as well as the exchange of scientific expertise.
The two sides concluded the meeting with an inspection tour at the headquarters of the Faculty of Al-Alsun to see the progress of the educational process in the Korean language department and to check on the students while providing all the necessary capabilities to upgrade the educational and research system in the department. Private and people from the governorates of southern Upper Egypt, and Ms. Kum Hyun Song – Second Secretary at the Korean Embassy gave a short lecture on Korean landmarks and culture to students of the Korean Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun.
